Happy New Year

New Year's Eve -- a time of renewing? I was 26 years old the last time I made a New Year's resolution. I resolved not to save resolution making for New Year's Day, but instead to make my fresh starts whenever they were needed. Base your goals for 2007 not on what day of the year it is, not on what image you want to present to the world, not on what someone else thinks you should do; base your goals on who you are, and what you need to accomplish to remain true to yourself. Anything else is doomed to fail, no matter what day of the year it is. And remember, you don't have to pin all of your hopes on this one day. The sun comes up on brand new possibilities every single morning. Happy 2007!

You are right Quilldancer, I spent many years trying to give up smoking on New Years Day and failed every time.I eventually achieved it over 10 years ago on an April 1st (which is probably quite appropriate for me!)By the way this is Bazza, I couldn't be bothered to sign out and start all over again.

Cindy -- according to Pastor today in church, most New Years resolutions are broken within two weeks of their making. She said the ones most often kept are those that list the things one is going to do, as opposed to the things one plans to never do again.

Caryl -- God's will. That and a mirror on the front of the fridge.

Bill -- I'd like to tell you that what I generally ask for is God's will to be done -- though I will admit that just lately I've placed a couple of orders. Still, I know that what I recieve will be what God deems best for me.
