Interrupted Joy

So, today I was looking over my finances and feeling very proud of myself. My frugal summer paid off. I had a bit of extra money to sock away in the savings account. I did a little dance around the kitchen and gave myself a couple "atta girls." Then tonight I walked out of the church Lay Leadership class and -- flat tire -- sidewall split wide open, a little desert dry rot. Yippee. You can't replace just one tire. You know that right? Two. Two minimum -- probably all four, because what are the chances only one of them is rotten? Never celebrate extra money.

sorry about the tire. I had car trouble this weekend as well. It was my scheduled weekend to work so I understand the mischief called stress! You can get the two tires whether front or rear. No need to panic. Have a grreat day!!!

What a way to deflate a good feeling. Bad pun intended, sorry.

Desert dry rot?
How long to tires last in Vegas?

Hold on, hold on
You had 'xtra' money because you hadn't counted (factored in) the cost of replacing said tires. So finding that your tires need replacing just means you were made bluntly aware of something you were perhaps trying to put off.

You know the saying every cloud has a silver lining, sounds to me some hot spots in the US, clouds would have been the 'silver lining'

Glad to see we awoke to a grey day, and though I like my Sun, I don't mind waiting till after midday for it to peek thru.

Here's wishing you a great day
Here's wishing you too too toorooloo

Yes, it does seem that way--it's like tempting fate--you can't say it outloud because "something" hears you and says, Heh, wait, this can't happen.

I always say, Expect the best, prepare for the worst, and smile, smile, smile.

"Never celebrate extra money." I had to chuckle at this as I remembered a story you told me a few years ago about one of my cousins being happy about extra money that ended up having to be used for car repairs... lol... You said almost exactly the same thing then.
