Twilight Zone

6:40 a.m., driving to work: between distorted black clouds, the sky is laden gray. The moon still hangs above the western mountains. Because of a heavy cloud bank, the sun has yet to come up, an eerie phenomena in this, the land of perpetual sun. The wind is gusting up to 18 miles per hour. A plastic trash can ran the red light at Las Vegas Blvd. and Cheyenne Ave., causing an SUV to swerve, narrowly missing my front end. Both the Internet and the heat are working in my classroom at the same time. I have a feeling this is going to be a Chris Van Allsburg sort of day. NOON -- update: The net is down at work. I had to come home at lunch time for an email fix.

Lori -- at 7:23 a.m., the sun burned through the clouds. Blogger is freaking out and refusing to allow me to post -- so far, all is right again in the world.

Did you want to get out of your car and confront the SUV driver? "Hey, that trash can isn't going to do any damage to you, but do you want to spend two years in jail for negligent manslaughter after you hit me? Assmonkey!" Because, I would've wanted to do that.

"A plastic trash can ran the red light at Las Vegas Blvd."

LOL! What fantastic phrasing.

A Chris Van Allsburg sort of day could mean practically anything. Except boredom. :)

Jill -- we are only slightly less gray at just a little before noon.

Snay -- I am non-confrontational. I just had the arguement in my own head.

IG -- sometimes I am eloquent. Usually, not so much though.

LZ -- yep

Dr. John -- no ticket for speeding or littering

Skittles -- tonight I saw your "not an ad" word-for-word on several sites. If iot looks like an ad, reads like an ad, and is placed solely to promote -- it's an ad.

Hi quilly, happy new year!
I have taken serious steps to reduce my internet addiction this year but I know how painful it is!

There's no hope for me. Even when I'm studiously trying to avoid blogging, I'm checking e-mail inbetween other things. Where's the 12 step program?

Kyah -- my addiction to the internet probably isn't going to end anytime soon, and currently, I have more incentive for maintaining it, then ending it.

Kat -- I have no idea where you might find a program in your area. I wonder if they have any online chapters ...
